FocusMe (developed by Vinx Solutions UG (haftungsbeschränkt), “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information FocusMe collects, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. By using FocusMe you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. What FocusMe does

FocusMe helps you reduce distractions by letting you create schedules and block selected apps using Apple’s Screen Time features. The app is a tool to help you manage attention: you configure which apps to block and when. FocusMe does not automatically block apps without user configuration.

2. Data we collect

Minimal & local-first approach. FocusMe is designed to minimize data collection:

• Local settings and preferences: Block lists, schedules, display name (if you set one) and other configuration data are stored locally on your device.
• Screen Time / system permissions: FocusMe integrates with Apple’s Screen Time API to apply blocking rules. The app requires you to grant Screen Time permissions; FocusMe does not access or transmit your full screen-time history to our servers.
• Anonymized analytics (optional): If you opt in, FocusMe may collect aggregated, anonymized usage metrics (e.g., number of schedules created, total blocked minutes) to help improve the product. This data does not identify you personally.
• Crash reports (optional): With your consent, the app may send anonymized crash reports to help us fix bugs. These reports do not include personal messages, contacts, or sensitive content.

3. What we do NOT collect

We do not collect or transmit:

• Email addresses, phone numbers, contacts or account credentials unless you explicitly provide them for support.
• Message contents, call logs, photos, or other personal media.
• Precise device usage logs tied to your identity on our servers (unless you explicitly opt in to anonymized analytics).

4. How we use data

We use data only for the purposes described here:

• To apply blocking rules via Screen Time on your device.
• To store your local settings and preferences on your device.
• To provide and improve FocusMe, including troubleshooting and bug fixes (with optional anonymized analytics and crash reports only when you opt in).
• To respond to your support requests if you contact us and provide information (email or screenshots).

5. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited data only in the following cases:

• Service providers: Third-party providers who process anonymized analytics or crash reports on our behalf (only with your opt-in).
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to respond to legal process, we may disclose information in accordance with applicable law.

6. Third-party services

FocusMe relies on Apple’s Screen Time API. The behavior and permissions of Screen Time are managed by Apple and subject to Apple’s policies. We may also use third-party services for optional analytics and crash reporting; such usage is disclosed during opt-in and is anonymized.

7. Data retention

Most FocusMe data (block lists, schedules, preferences) is stored locally on your device and retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. Anonymized analytics (if you opt in) are retained only as long as necessary to improve the product and are aggregated to prevent identification.

8. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect data stored by FocusMe. However, no system can be 100% secure — please treat any sensitive information with care and contact support if you suspect a breach.

9. Children’s privacy

FocusMe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to delete that information.

10. Your rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data. Because most data is stored locally, you can usually manage or delete your settings directly in the app or by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of any server-side data or to exercise your privacy rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond according to applicable law.

11. How to control data & permissions

Screen Time permissions: To enable blocking, FocusMe requires Screen Time permissions. You can review or revoke these permissions in your iPhone Settings → Screen Time. Opt-out of analytics/crash reports: Opt-out controls for analytics and crash reporting are available in the app settings.

12. International transfers

If anonymized data is processed by service providers outside your country, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable law.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of FocusMe after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
